Mr. Cummings has over 20 years of experience in finance and management including senior managerial positions in two of the Big 4 audit firms and the role of Group Accountant with a London, England based insurance group listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He most recently held the position of CFO and then subsequently CEO and Director of a Canadian alternative investment manager that develops and distributes public, full prospectus funds. Mr. Cummings holds an accounting degree from the University of Glasgow and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and in British Columbia.
James (Jim) Currie, P.Eng.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Currie is a mining engineer with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked on projects in North and South America, Asia and Africa. Mr. Currie was recently Chief Operating Officer for New Gold Inc., a multi-mine gold producer with annual production of over 350,000 ounces of gold and market capitalization of over $5.1 billion. Prior to that, Mr. Currie was the Vice President, Operations for Miramar Mining Corp. (”Miramar”) in Vancouver and was responsible for leading the development team of Miramar’s 10 million ounce gold mineral resource at Hope Bay in the Canadian Arctic prior to the acquisition of Miramar by Newmont Mining Corporation. Mr. Currie has also worked as General Manager of Mauritanian Copper Mines SA, a subsidiary of First Quantum Minerals.
Marius Mare P.Geo.
Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Maré is a registered Professional Geoscientist with over 20 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry. He holds a B.Sc. (Hon.) and M.Sc. degree in economic geology from the University of Manitoba. Mr. Maré has worked extensively in Canada and Mexico as well as serving in a senior role with Placer Dome Tanzania. He was most recently Vice President Exploration with Toronto based Nayarit Gold Inc.
Mr. Davies has over 25 years of Finance experience including senior Finance roles with Canadian public listed companies, and public accounting experience with KPMG and Grant Thornton. Mr. Davies holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry, and is a member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and in British Columbia.
